General principles

Workplace Health & Safety is an integral part of people management of any business; and, as MACFAM, we strive to conduct activities in a work environment that achieves the following:

• • provides adequate information and monitoring to Clients and workforce

• • provides adequate training that ensures that staffs are competent to do their tasks.

Obligations

Macfam is firmly committed to ensuring that our operations are carried out in a way that ensures the health and safety of everyone. An injury and accident-free workplace is our goal. Our Company aims at providing a safe and healthy environment in which people can safely operate.

We are committed to ensuring that possible measures are taken to remove (or at least reduce) risks to the health, safety and welfare of Clients, workers, contractors, authorised visitors, and anyone else in the community/ our vicinity that may be affected by our operations.

Responsibilities

o Macfam believes that Health & Safety is not a prerogative of a particular individual or department, rather, a responsibility of everyone, be it the workforce, customers, visitors, etc. All are responsible for their own health & safety as well as for the health & safety of others.

o The Management will provide and maintain as far as possible a safe working environment; facilities for the welfare of Customers/ workers; information, instruction, training and supervision that is reasonably necessary to ensure that each Customer/ staff is safe from injury and risks to health; a commitment to consult and co-operate with Clients, staff, visitors and the community in all matters relating to health and safety in the workplace. The Management is commitment to continually improve our performance through effective safety management.

o Every Customer/ worker has an obligation to comply with safe work practices; take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves & others; and avoid injury to themselves / others and damage to plant and equipment, and where possible, help to improve safety measures. Compliance with company procedures is mandatory to all. All hazards, Incidents and Accidents should be reported to management, no matter how trivial they may appear.

Scope & Application of this policy

Macfam seeks the co-operation of all workers, customers and visitors, etc., and encourages suggestions from all for realising our health and safety objectives to create a safe working environment with a zero accident rate. This policy applies to all business operations and functions, including those situations where workers/clients may be required to carry out some activities/ work off-site.
